One-day introductory wet plate workshop:


A hands-on survey of the wet plate process. Participants will be photographing in studio using a large format camera. Includes an overview of entire workflow, chemistry, lighting solutions, and special considerations.


All chemistry is prepared in advance.


Workshop is from 9am-4pm and is limited to a maximum of three participants.


Cost: $495 per person.

Two-day advanced wet plate workshop:


Geared to those that want to know how start photographing wet plate on their own. Participants will be photographing in

studio using a large format camera, as well learning how to prepare their own chemistry. This workshop is a deeper dive into the process, and it is recommended that participants have some understanding of the basics of photography.


The first day of the two-day workshop is a hands-on instructional day of photographing tintype images using two different light sources with prepared chemistry. Day two involves preparing the key chemistry as well as reviewing varnishing techniques.


Includes handbook with recipes and hardware sources.


Workshop is from 9am-4pm and is limited to two participants.


Cost $865 per person.

Three-day advanced wet plate workshop:


Geared to those that want a fully immersive launch to their wet plate journey. Participants will be photographing in studio using a large format camera, as well learning how to prepare and maintain their own chemistry. This workshop also covers how to make the important components necessary such as modifying film holders, building tanks and more.


A solid foundation in photography is highly recommended.


The first day of the workshop is a hands-on instructional day of photographing tintype images using two different light sources with prepared chemistry. Day two involves preparing the key chemistry as well as reviewing varnishing techniques. On the third day we review making wet plate equipment, chemistry maintenance and ambrotypes.


Includes handbook with recipes and hardware sources.


Workshop is from 9am-4pm each day.
